Beef Meets Reef is one of the largest event Evans Head has on it's annual events calendar and a lot of hard work goes into making it a great day for everyone. Adrian is on the committee and there are endless meetings during the year, some of which aren't always at good times when you're running a busy holiday park. But at the end of the day when you walk around and see everyone having a great day I don't mind all the extra hours he puts in.
This year Evans Head was lucky enough to host the National Tug of War Championships. We had many of the participants staying at the park and it was interesting to hear what it is all about and what is involved. The teams have to have a weigh in the evening before and some of the teams even had special ankle high boots which looked similar to skiiing boots.
The Disney themed parade was lovely for the kids to get involved in. Our little boy loved the Playquest jumping castles and our very own face painter was on hand to entertain those who were waiting to hire our pedal carts.
We were very fortunate that the weather held off for us and the strong wind stayed at bay so that everyone really enjoyed the event that kicks off Casino Beef Week. Why not check out the Beef Meets Reef Facebook page to see what I'm talking about.
