My honest opinion of Ballina...

Getting to know Ballina..

Early this year I took a risk, and I moved here to Ballina. The first few months were a whirlwind. I was settling in to a new home, looking for work, learning how to get around a new town…

Skipping forward a few months, Ballina and I have had the chance to get to know each other a little. Now this place seems like heaven!

Working in the Office here at Shaws Bay has been fantastic when it comes to learning about the area. I absolutely love to hear guest stories, and it inspires me to get out and about and see what Ballina has to offer!

I would have to say that East Ballina, more specifically the area surrounding the stunning Shaws Bay is a favourite of mine. The North Wall is hands down the best exercise spot! I really enjoy going for a walk, watching fish jump in Shaws Bay and watching Dolphins play off the edge of the wall.

And, Oh I just love walking down River Street and popping into a variety of amazing boutique stores for a chat with the staff and a bit of a splurge! Beautiful beaches never fail to capture my eye. Some days it does not feel like winter at all as I sit on a beach watching waves. I cannot forget the gorgeous rainforests and waterfalls to explore, right in Ballina’s backyard! Then there is the huge variety of restaurants and cafes, all waiting to serve me amazing treats!

The ever popular towns of Lennox Head and Byron Bay are close by as well, it makes it easy to get out and about and see something different for the day. The Northern Rivers area is absolutely packed with things to do. I also love a day trip to the Gold Coast; a quick trip up the highway gives me my city fix...

Ballina is really an amazing place. There is so much to see and do!

And now, I call Ballina - home.
