The Solitary Islands Marine Park is home to over 550 species of reef fish, 90 species of coral and an amazing array of other marine plants and animals. Over 71,000 hectares in size, the Marine Park extends from Muttonbird Island at Coffs Harbour, north to the Plover Island at Sandon – over 75 km of coast, estuaries and islands to explore. A zoning plan is in place to protect the range of habitats and species in the park. The adjacent Commonwealth Marine Reserve protects deepwater habitat including the stunning Pimpernel Rock.
Fishing, diving, surfing, whale watching, boating and beach activities are all popular activities in the park and reserve.
