What to take

Items to consider taking in your camping kit:

  • Tent and frame
  • Tent fly or tarp, pegs, ropes
  • Rubber matting or tarp for ground
  • Hammer or axe
  • Sharp pocket knife
  • Stove & stand
  • Gas bottle/s (filled)
  • Matches / lighter
  • Torch with spare battery
  • Battery or gas lighting
  • Table and camp chairs
  • Esky or fridge (remember to pick up some ice on the way)
  • Water container
  • Wood chest
  • Camp cupboard
  • Plenty of rubbish bags
  • Portable clothes rack
  • Wash basin, detergent, sponge & tea towels
  • Pot & fry pan
  • Billy or jug for those morning cuppa’s
  • Toaster
  • Camp oven
  • Air mattress/camp bed & air pump
  • Sleeping bags/ sheets / blankets & pillows
  • Dust pan
  • Plates, bowls, cups, large bowl & colander
  • Cutlery (enough for everyone)
  • Utensils including can opener and most importantly a corkscrew
  • Sharp knife & chopping board
  • Don’t forget the family, and the dog if you’re heading to one of our dog friendly parks (check park website for conditions)

Cabins

 

Your kitchen will be kitted out with the basics. Some of the larger cabins will include most items you will need to cook with, including kettle, toaster, oven/microwave/hot plates, crockery, cups, glasses, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans*. You will also be provided with a small supply of cloths, washing up liquid, tea towels and rubbish bags.

 

*Exact kitchen contents may vary between cabins. Please check the park website for information regarding linen and additional items such as an iron, hairdryer etc.

 

Other items to consider when camping or staying in a cabin:

  • Adequate clothing for all weather possibilities
  • Plenty of easy-to-prepare, easy-to-store food
  • First aid kit (check that it is up to date)
  • Insect repellent & mosquito coils
  • Mobile phone charger
  • Camera and battery charger to record all of those memorable moments
  • Sun screen / hats and umbrella
  • For children - toys or items to entertain in wet weather and during setup and packing up
  • For dogs (on sites only at certain parks) - food and drinking bowl - food and drinking bowl, bedding, collar and lead, food and peg to tie them up
